Respect the DashCamShare.com community

We’re not asking for the kind of respect reserved for nuns, the elderly and brain surgeons. All we ask is that you don’t abuse the site or the people who use it. A good benchmark for this might be to ask yourself “Would I say this/show this to my Grandma?” If the answer is no, then it’s probably not right for the site. Or you have a very different type of Grandma to the team here at DashCamShare.com.

Sometimes people make mistakes or just need a bit of advice. To reflect this we operate a “3 strike” rule. We’ll give you a chance, then a warning, on both occasions we will tell you “why” or “how” you have broken the rules but of you violate them again we will have no choice but to delete your account.

Don’t cross the line

Here are some common-sense rules that’ll help you steer clear of trouble. Please take these rules seriously and take them to heart. Don’t try to look for loopholes or attempt to weasel your way out of the guidelines – just understand them and try to respect the spirit in which they were created.

Nudity or sexual content

DashCamShare.com is a video sharing site, but for a specific type of video, it is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your video, even if it’s a video of yourself, don’t post it on DashCamShare.com. Also, please be advised that we will report any videos of this nature to the Police or other relevant authorities.

Violent or graphic content

Because of the nature of the site we know that from time to time videos may contain footage of injuries or the unpredictable events that can take place after an incident. It’s not acceptable though to post violent or gory content that is primarily intended to be shocking, sensational or disrespectful. If you post graphic content in a news or documentary context, please provide enough information to help people understand what’s going on in the video. Don’t encourage others to commit specific acts of violence.

Hateful content

DashCamShare.com provides a platform for free expression. However, we don’t support content that promotes or condones violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status or sexual orientation/gender identity, or whose primary purpose is inciting hatred on the basis of these core characteristics. This can be a delicate balancing act, but if the primary purpose is to attack a protected group, the content crosses the line.

Spam, misleading metadata and scams

Everyone hates spam. Don’t create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. It’s not acceptable to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments.

Harmful or dangerous content

Don’t post videos that encourage others to do things that might cause them to get badly hurt, especially children. Videos showing such harmful or dangerous acts may be removed depending on their severity.

Copyright

Respect copyright. Only upload videos that you made or that you’re authorised to use. Don’t upload videos that you didn’t make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programmes or videos made by other users, without the necessary authorisations.

Threats

Things like predatory behaviour, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people’s personal information and inciting others to commit violent acts or to violate the Terms of Use are taken very seriously. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from DashCamShare.com.

We review your reports carefully

You might not like everything that you see on DashCamSahre.com. Some of the content might offend you. If you think it’s inappropriate, let us know by our team by using the “Contact Us” feature on the site. Our staff review flagged videos or comments to determine whether they violate our Community Guidelines or Terms and Conditions. If they do, we’ll remove them.

Join in and have fun

Remember that this is your community. Each and every person on DashCamShare.com makes the site what it is, so don’t be afraid to get stuck in and get involved. The more people in the community and the more footage they upload help to make us a more useful resource, all helping to make the worlds roads a safer, fairer and more fun place to be.
